We hunt for joy and we forget that sorrow and joy go together. They cannot be separated from each other. We keep ourselves busy with people and keep ourselves surrounded by people all the time, forgetting that aloneness or solitude is as much the substance of life as relationships are — and that through death one has to pass alone.
