As usual, there is a great woman behind every idiot.
There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life.
John Lennon, “Just Gimme Some Truth,” from pdvmorris who wrote this wonderful little tribute:
Tuesday and the dull greys have hit hard! Looking at yesterdays as I sip on all my tomorrows. At the Flimwell Papers’ Music Corner the theme on this day….well, there often isn’t one. I just felt like playing this — set it on repeat, as Supah Sara our temp made more coco, and we listened not filling the stillness between repeats with any words or speaking at all!
It’s early but JL would have been 70 this Sunday…..wondering just just wondering where it all goes…so sending this tune out in memory of his quest, John at his acerbic best! All the tales are told, all the tunes re-worked and played again and again, coffers still fill with golden lucre, but many of us just know how diminished any world would be with the loss of a voice!
Happy 70th, John.
